The Reproducrive Biology Laboratory of this department consists of 3 different sections: Clinical Biochemistry, Endocrinology & Immunology and Andrology. This laboratory provides the back-up services for teaching, research and patient care services provided by the professorial unit. The services of these laboratories were extended to other departments and faculties for their clinical and research work. Services and maintenance of the laboratory is carried out in a cost recovery basis, without any financial burden to the university. Post graduate students following the Diploma in Pathology also use the laboratory to learn the range of investigations in different fields and their techniques. Several post graduates (PhD, DM, MPhil & MSc) carried out the entire laboratory component of their research projects in this laboratory.
A special feature of this laboratory is that it is operated on a non-profit basis making the service affordable to the average Sri Lanka.
