Pan-Asian Symposium on Morality, Character, and Wisdom

Symposium overview: Sessions will focus on the assessment of character, moral judgment and wisdom, as well as innovative techniques for promoting the development of virtues and wisdom. The goals of these sessions would be to: 1) provide an exchange of different culture-specific conceptions of character and wisdom and their developmental paths in various cultural traditions in the Asian region; 2) stimulate discussion on new directions in evidence-based ways to foster wisdom in schools, workplaces, and through policies; 3) foster collaboration on wisdom-related topics among researchers with shared interests and fresh perspectives. 

Costs: The conference will be free to attend for ~ 80 selected local and foreign participants. At least 50 foreign scholars (especially those from the Asian region) will qualify for honoraria, which will be used to subsidize travel andhotelcosts.

Program overview: The symposium will kick off with sessions on morality and character (DAY 1), followed by wisdom (DAY 2), and will conclude with a session on application of research on morality, character, and wisdom in the medical setting (morning of DAY 3).
