The Centre for Research Development and Innovation (CRDI) oversees, publicizes, supports and encourages the research endeavors in the Faculty of Medicine Colombo. The CRDI facilitates a plethora of research related training and support services through the committees and divisions which comprise the administrative structure of the CRDI. The center additionally supports evidence-based modifications to practices and policies, as well as research and innovation aimed at enhancing and maintaining human health and wellbeing.

The Centre for Research Development and Innovation (CRDI) was established at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo, by upgrading the Research Promotion and Facilitation Centre (RPFC). The Centre administers, monitors, disseminates, supports and promotes faculty research activities. The CRDI facilitates research and resource development incorporating all the research-related committees and units in the faculty under one roof. The Centre aspires to promote evidence-based change in policy and practice. One major objective of CRDI is to facilitate research and innovations that would improve and sustain human health and well-being.
