Research Monitoring & Evaluation Committee
The research committee of the Faculty of Medicine was established in 2013 to monitor the progress of funded research and make recommendations related to research-related monitory support and allowances. The research committee has been pivotal in monitoring and supporting research funded by the University of Colombo and the University Grants Commission. Currently, the committee is monitoring all the funded research falling under the preview of the committee’s terms of reference.
- To recommend reviewers for research proposals submitted for research grants, University of Colombo.
- To evaluate applications for research awards and make recommendations to the University/Senate/Faculty.
- To evaluate research proposals / progress reports of university research grants.
- To evaluate applications for travel grants and make recommendations.
- To evaluate and make recommendations for any other related request forwarded to the committee.
- To evaluate applications for staff research allowances in accordance with circular no. 05/2014(i) date 28.05.2014. and make recommendations.
- To evaluate applications for reimbursement of publication fees.
Recording of the Workshop on effective research grant management
The research committee meetings are held on the 4th Wednesday of every month. Please submit any documents before the 3rd Friday of the month to be taken up in that month’s meeting.
