The Centre for Meditation Research (CMR) is equipped with significant research findings on physical, psychological and social effects of meditation and has developed successful meditation-based interventions for patient groups. The CMR collaborates with the Rekhi Foundation for Happiness to introduce this unique learning experience to the community to enhance the total well-being of society by educating the participants to be
- the disseminators of the knowledge
- practitioners of the skills
- incorporators of pragmatic aspects to day-to-day living
- leaders introducing skills to workplaces and society
Successful participants will develop skills, attitudes and attributes to enhance their efficiency, productivity and cohesiveness. The knowledge and skills will contribute to their sustainability in the pathway for physical and spiritual development. The certificate would be a recognition for achieving such status.
Module 01: Emotions and emotionally driven actions
- Outline the neurobiology of perception and voluntary action.
- Explain neurobiology of emotions.
- Discuss the relationship between neurobiology of emotions with actions.
- Discuss perception, related emotions and emotionally derived actions in pain / suffering.
Module 02: Happiness
- Define happiness.
- Discuss Biological, Psychological and Social Foundations of happiness.
- Describe the methods available to assess/ measure happiness.
- Outline general methods utilized to enhance happiness.
- Discuss factors influencing happiness.
Module 03: Meditation
- Critically examine the nature of meditation and mindfulness.
- Analyze a variety of meditation and mindfulness techniques practiced around the world in a variety of fields.
- Identify the physical, psychological and social benefits of meditation.
- Apply meditation for happiness.
- Critically analyze the interaction between body, mind, and memory.
- Compare the empirical vs experiential methodologies in meditation.
- Apply a lifestyle approach to meditation.
- Define the CMR protocols.
- Discuss the Use of CMR protocols in meditation research.
Module 04: Creativity, art, and drama in happiness
- Discuss the aesthetics and philosophy of passion and aesthetics in the West and East.
- Describe the connections between arts and happiness in the everyday situation and non-daily situations.
- Explain the cognitive and visceral aspects of happiness and their connections to the creative arts.
- General-Select appropriate terminology to describe the subjective experience of happiness and wellbeing.
Module 05: Translating the science of happiness and meditation to daily living/Complete wellbeing
- Understand the key concepts of the science of happiness and meditation.
- Emphasize the importance of positive relationships in happiness at home.
- Emphasize the importance of happiness at work.
- Emphasize the importance of happiness in education.
- Describe the happiness in green living.
- Outline the challenges in happiness and the methods that can be used to overcome the challenges.
Module 06: Wisdom, morality and wellbeing

- Define inner Joy and equanimity.
- Discuss the Psychology and Philosophy of inner joy and equanimity.
- Outline the neurobiology of inner joy and equanimity.
- Discuss the concept, history and the Philosophy of Nibbana.
- Discuss religious contributions to the concept of Nibbana.
- Discuss religious approaches and methods towards Nibbana.

Notional Hours: 600 (Direct 150 + Online and guided self-learning – 450)
