At present the centre for TB conducts the following Diploma and Certificate Courses and I am the coordinator for all four courses.

1. Diploma in Infectious Diseases and Global Health
2. Diploma in Infection Prevention & Control
3. Diploma in Cross-border Healthcare
4. Certificate Course in Tuberculosis

The TB Diagnostic Centre is self-funded and functions by utilizing the generated funds of the above Diploma and Certificate courses. Many consultant specialists from the Ministry of Health and from the Universities serve as resource persons for these Diploma and Certificate courses.

These courses are conducted for the medical officers and all the other health care workers including medical laboratory technicians, nurses, public health inspectors, microscopists, physiotherapists, and healthcare administrators.

Research and post-graduate activities

We are conducting research studies at the center and we have presented and published the data of our research studies.

I am the supervisor for MPhil and MSc students and at present we have approximately 10 research assistants currently working at the TB Diagnostic and Education Centre.

This is also the training center for the Mycobacterial studies for the postgraduate students who are doing their Masters in Medical Microbiology conducted by the Post Graduate Institute of Science (PGIS), University of Peradeniya.
