General Convocation 2023 – Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo
The University of Colombo held its General Convocation 2023 for the Faculty of Medicine on 04th October, 2024 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall, Colombo. The event was held in the presence of Vice-Chancellor Senior Professor H.D. Karunaratne, Registrar Mrs K C Sanjeevani Perera , the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Vidya Jyothi Senior Prof. Vajira H.W. Dissanayake along with several academic and administrative staff. Professor of Pathology and Chair, Senior Professor Chandu de Silva, Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo graced this occasion by delivering the keynote speech. 197 students graduated with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, 28 students graduated with Bachelor of Honours in Physiotherapy and 1 student graduated with Bachelor of Health Studies. Prizes and Gold medals were also awarded to the outstanding medical students.
University of Colombo Award for the Academic Excellence in Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery was awarded to Mr. P.D. Seneviratne (A/L 2016 batch) and the University of Colombo Award for the Academic Excellence in Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy was awarded to Ms. W.A.N.R. Sandeepani (A/L 2018 batch).
