“My Week in the Parasitology Department”
“During my elective in the Parasitology department at the University of Colombo, I gained invaluable insights into the complex world of parasitic diseases. The hands-on approach, coupled with the guidance of expert faculty, deepened my understanding of diagnostic techniques such as stool smear microscopy and preparing blood thick and
thin films. I also developed my skills in identifying parasites and was able to visualise them at different points in their life cycles. I was particularly impressed by how welcoming and keen to teach everyone was, which made the learning experience even more enjoyable. The collaborative environment and the chance to engage with the varied teaching programme made my time here truly enriching. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and am grateful for the
knowledge and skills I acquired during my time at the University of Colombo.”
