  • Dr. SC Paul Oration, SLMA: Dr. HVYD Siriwardana. : Dr. SC Paul Oration of 127th Anniversary Academic Sessions and International Medical Congress of Sri Lanka Medical Association. This is considered as one of the most prestigious orations in the field of Medicine. This oration was titled  “ Leishmaniasis: a newly established  vector borne disease  in Sri Lanka” and delivered on 17th July 2014, at BMICH Colombo (2014).
  • Third World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) science exchange programme award (2013).  Awarded to Dr. HVYD Siriwardana and Prof ND Karunaweera to host Anuradha Dube, Chief Scientist, Central Drug research Institute, Luknow, India to assist and guide the local institution in establishment of  the Centre for  research, training and diagnosis of  leishmaniasis, Department of Parasitology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo.
  • Third World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) science exchange programme award (2015).  Dr. HVYD Siriwardana and Prof ND Karunaweera to host Prof. Mitali Chattergee, Post Graduate Institute of Medical education and research, Calcutta, India to assist and guide the local institution in establishment of  the Centre for  research, training and diagnosis of  leishmaniasis, Department of Parasitology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo.
